Donor Privacy Policy
Golden State Land Conservancy is deeply grateful for the trust our donors place in us. We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who supports our mission. This Donor Privacy Policy describes how we handle information collected from donors and supplements our general Privacy Policy.
Our Commitment
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share our donors’ personal information with any other organization for their own marketing purposes. This applies to all donors and to all the ways you may choose to give.
Information We Collect from Donors
When you make a gift, we may collect your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, donation amount, and the date of your gift. When you donate online through our website, payments are processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor, and your card details are handled directly by Stripe and are not stored on GSLC's own system. We use Little Green Light (LGL), our donor management system, to record and manage donor information.
How We Use Donor Information
We use donor information to:
- Process your gift and provide a tax-deductible acknowledgment;
- Maintain accurate financial and donor records as required of a nonprofit organization;
- Communicate with you about your gift, our work, and giving opportunities (only as you have permitted); and
- Comply with legal, audit, and reporting obligations.
Donor Choice and Recognition
You may request at any time that we:
- Limit how often we contact you, or stop contacting you altogether; or
- Withhold your name from public donor listings (remain anonymous)

Security
We maintain reasonable safeguards to protect donor information and limit access to staff and authorized service providers who need it to carry out our work.
